Install the tools

The commands below assume both checkouts sit next to your projects:

work/
├── ndsr/ # runtime
├── necter-sdk/ # hivekit-rs, hivekit-go, hivekit-js, hivekit (Python), hivejs
└── my_module/ # your code

Requires a stable Rust toolchain (1.85 or newer). No system protoc is needed.

Terminal window
cd ndsr
cargo build --release --bin ndsr
install -m 755 target/release/ndsr ~/.local/bin/ndsr # or anywhere on your PATH
ndsr --version # ndsr 1.0.0

Every hivec finds ndsr through $NDSR_BIN, then ndsr on your PATH, then a tools/ndsr in any parent directory.

Terminal window
rustup target add wasm32-unknown-unknown
cargo install --path necter-sdk/hivekit-rs # installs `hivec` into ~/.cargo/bin

In your module’s Cargo.toml:

[dependencies]
hivekit = { path = "../necter-sdk/hivekit-rs" }

Each SDK installs a command named hivec. If you use several languages, install them into separate environments or rename the binaries (for example hivec-go).

hivejs (in necter-sdk/hivejs) is a dependency-free client for browsers and Node. Build it with npm ci && npm run build and add it to your app as a local dependency:

{ "dependencies": { "hivejs": "file:../necter-sdk/hivejs" } }

Usage: Upload and call a module.

Terminal window
ndsr --version
hivec --help

Then follow the quickstart.
