Term Meaning
Audit A validator re-executing a committee round itself; happens for every contested round and a random 10 % of the rest
Backup A committee member drawn after the primaries, activated when a primary declines, times out or misses its lease
Beacon Per-epoch randomness from a Sepolia block hash, used to seed sortition
Binding The record linking a device’s node key to its owner wallet, signed by both
Canonical JSON Sorted keys, no whitespace, unescaped UTF-8, integers only; used for every hash and signature
Collateral NECTA bonded per subscription in the Staking contract; slashable
Committee The miners drawn to execute one task slot
Compute unit max(1, ceil(gas_used / 1,000,000)) per verified vote; the basis of rewards
Consensus hash Hash of a project manifest’s consensus section; names the rules a round ran under
Contested round A committee round where some vote disagrees or no hash reaches quorum
Epoch A project’s reward period (epoch_secs, 1 to 24 hours, aligned to UTC)
Equivocation Two different votes by one key in one round; fully slashable
Finality record Validators’ signed statement of a round’s correct receipt hash, gas and agreeing voters
Gas Metered execution cost (instruction fuel plus host-call costs)
Gasless intent EIP-712 typed data you sign so the Hub’s relayer sends the transaction for you
.hbc Hive Bytecode: the module format HiveKit produces and NDSR executes (a manifest plus compiled code, module.wasm, in a ZIP)
HiveKit The SDKs and hivec CLIs for writing modules
hivejs The client library for calling deployed modules
hive-wasm-v1 The runtime id of the current Hive Bytecode ABI and host interface
Hub The public API and miner relay at testnet-rpc.necter.network
Lease A granted task assignment with a deadline, after a miner accepts an offer
Manifest address A module’s content address: Keccak-256 of its canonical manifest and compiled code
NDSR Necter Distributed State Runtime: the node and execution engine
NECTA The network token; collateral for mining (test NECTA on the testnet)
Node key / node id A device’s ed25519 identity; node_id = "ndsr-" + 16 hex of keccak256(public key)
Offer The relay’s invitation to a drawn committee member to run a task
Project A worker module plus a signed manifest, registered on-chain with its own vault
Portable engine NDSR’s interpreter (Pulley), used on 32-bit ARM; receipt-identical to the native engine
Receipt The hashed summary of one execution (module, function, input, output, events, gas, success)
Reputation A per-subscription score (1,000–10,000 bp) that scales selection weight
Round One consensus decision: exec: (validators), task: (committee), epoch: (rewards)
SecureWeave NDSR’s BFT consensus layer: quorum floor(2n/3)+1 of distinct, non-equivocating validators. More
Slot (project, epoch, seq): the position a task occupies; its committee is fixed before the input exists
Snapshot The validator-attested list of eligible miners for a project epoch
Sortition Weighted random selection of committees from a snapshot
Stateless A module importing no storage.* and no hive.call; required for committee workers
Subscription One device mining one project, backed by its own collateral
Validator fallback Running a task as a validator round when no committee is possible; pays no miner
Vault A project’s ProjectVault contract holding its reward token and paying epochs
