EVM: Necter hybrid EVM (planned)

Necter EVM is a hybrid execution engine that brings two things together on one network:

  • The OP Stack, an optimistic rollup stack with an Ethereum-equivalent EVM. Solidity contracts, EVM bytecode and the tools EVM developers already use (Foundry, Hardhat, standard wallets and libraries) work as they do on Ethereum.
  • Zero-knowledge proof finality. Instead of waiting out an optimistic challenge window (7 days on a typical OP Stack chain), blocks are finalized by validity proofs: a block is final once its proof is verified.

Next to it runs NDSR, the Necter Distributed State Runtime, which executes Hive Bytecode (.hbc) modules deterministically in committees of miners. With Necter EVM, Solidity contracts and NDSR modules run side by side, under one roof, on Necter’s own network.

Piece What it brings
OP Stack EVM Ethereum-equivalent execution: Solidity, Foundry/Hardhat, existing wallets and libraries
NDSR Deterministic compute off the EVM, run by miners through the Mining Store and verified by SecureWeave consensus
ZK proof finality Fast, cryptographically final settlement instead of a multi-day challenge window

The goal is a network built for speed: the fastest place to run Solidity and NDSR together. Benchmarks will be published once there is something to measure; until then, treat it as a design goal, not a measured result.

Today (public testnet) Next (Necter EVM, planned)
Contracts NECTA, faucet, ProjectRegistry, vaults and Staking on Ethereum Sepolia Necter’s own hybrid EVM at mainnet
Solidity Not executed by Necter; keep contracts on Ethereum and consume Necter results Solidity contracts deployed on Necter, next to NDSR modules
Finality Validator quorum for rounds; rewards settle on Sepolia ZK validity proofs
NDSR Live: .hbc modules, miner committees, audits and slashing Unchanged, running side by side with the EVM

Until Necter EVM ships, build with what is live: deploy an NDSR module and have your Ethereum contracts or backend consume its signed receipts. The roadmap for everything else that is planned is on Roadmap: coming soon.
